About Mystic Heart
Mystic Heart,
an ensemble that was created out of necessity and destiny. Ron Askew
   - Guitar, Arrangements

Cynthia Rose Lane
   - Vocals, Flute
Cynthia,
a former English teacher, was the catalyst that brought the fusion. She began her musical career at the age of ten when she won first prize at a countywide choral competition in South Georgia. Throughout the years, other singing awards followed, making her aware of the power of her gift.

She had always wanted to perform with a band, but the responsibilities of career and family prevented the fulfillment of her dream.

Ron,
a retired software engineer, has a long commitment to both art and science. In addition to pursuing personal interests, he has formally studied philosophy, math, computer science, operations research, business, baritone horn, viola, guitar, music theory and composition.

As a musician, he has worked commercial, academic and R&B recording sessions and was seasoned in the jazz club scene in Chicago. The Governors State University Jazz Ensemble, with which he was associated, won 9 of the 12 available awards at the Notre Dame Jazz Festival in 1973. He has enjoyed a brief tour in Europe, highlighted by the famous Montreaux Jazz Festival.

Ron is still involved with electronic music composition and computer programming. He also finds time to coach bands and to teach guitar and music theory.
